Agia Efimia

Agia Efimia is een toeristische plaats die tegenover Ithaka ligt. Een dat alles heeft en kan een rustige en ontspannende vakantie bieden. Het geeft de bezoeker de gelegenheid de vele stranden te bezoeken met zijn helder water, witte kiezelstenen en rotsen over de hele lengte van de weg die door loopt tot Sami. Tevens kan men de betovering van het duiken ontdekken omdat er een duikerschool is in deze plaats. Een grote marine vergemakkelijkt het de plezierboten aan te leggen en kan dienst doen als aanlegplaats voor de rondom liggende baaien in deze buurt die alleen via zee te bereiken zijn. Agia Efimia onderscheidt zich echter om zijn trotse strand Mirtos, welke het bekendste is van heel Kefalonia.

Myrtos Strand

Myrtos beach is famed for its crystal clear blue water and white sand. Ιt is rated in the top ten beaches of Europe and in the World. It's astoundingly beautiful, just like on the picture postcards, and featured in "Captain Corelli's Mandolin", starring Nicolas Cage and Penelope Cruz. Backed by steep limestone cliffs, this two-kilometer stretch of white shingle gives onto a moody sea, which changes colour from milky turquoise to indigo with the swirling of the waves.
Facilities on the beach include a snack bar, sunbeds and parasail hire, showers, W.C'S and telephone. Whilst development is restricted within the beach vacinity, there are a couple of nice Tavernas at the start of the access road down to the beach in Divarata.
