Assos - Fiskardon

Myrtos

fokifwkifokifokifwki

Foki is a very beautiful beach just before Fiskardo. It's name comes from the presence of the rare and almost extinct mediterranean seal Monahus-Monahus which finds retreat in the area. A dream landscape with pine and olive trees, whose shade relax the visitors who reach the beach. It has white pebbles and clear, crystal, turquoise waters. Countless little caves and bays are found along the path to reach the beach. Right above the beach is a single tavern serving fish they catch daily. This beach is prefered by many on private yachts.

Assos

assos_seaAssos has a small beach in the gulf in which the village is built. It is pebble lined and with calm waters since the sea currents cannot reach it. Right above the beachfront ar numerous traditional taverns and coffe shops. It is a good idea, though, to rent a boat and explore the endless little beaches in the surrounding area, which are accessible only by boat.

Agia Ierousalim

It is a small beach with pebbles just before you reach Fiskardo. It got it's name from a ruined little church posted on the edge of the beach. The trip to this beach might confuse you a bit, due to the labyrinthine streets, but is well worth the drive. Many people prefer it for camping since the scenery within the mountain backdrop is amazing. This beach is home to sea horses.

Alaties

Alaties beach is in fact a little gulf located very close to Agia Ierousalim. The same labyrinthine streets lead to this pebble lined beach with dark blue waters and strong currents from the open sea. It got its name from the large quantities of salt that lay in the crevices of the rocks surrounding the beach and which the locals collect.

Dafnoudi

Dafnoudi is a wonderful beach well worth visiting. A long path through a dense forset leads to a bay with pebbles and deep blue waters. Caves accessible by foot on one side and dense vegitation on the other, complete the scenery of one of the most picturesque beaches on the Island.

Emblisi

Emblisi is the most widely known beach in Fiskardo. It is a small white pebble beach with a big pebbles mosaic-like and clear, turquoise waters. It resembles Foki and Dafnoudi beach but it is more cosmopolitan. It as a beach bar, but the most remarkable thing is that there is a power station with underground electricity cables bringing electricity for the island from Aitoloakarnania.
